Alertin

1. Introduction

Welcome to Alertin ("we", "our", or "us"). The App is a payment announcement utility designed for Indian shop owners and merchants to receive real-time voice alerts for UPI payments received through Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, and any other UPI-enabled payment apps.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your information when you use our App. By installing and using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

• Account info — Your name and email address are collected via Google Sign-In (OAuth). This is the only method of account creation in the app. This data is stored on our secured server to identify your account and link your devices.
• Device info — device ID, model, OS version, country code. Server + local.
• Notification content — only amount + sender name extracted from UPI app notifications. Local SQLite only.
• Notification parse diagnostics — if the app cannot extract the sender name or fails to parse a UPI notification, the raw notification title and body are sent to our server solely to improve detection accuracy. No financial credentials are included.
• FCM token — Firebase push token. Server only. Used to send alerts to staff.
• App settings — voice language, jingle, toggles. Local only.
• Payment summary — amount, sender, timestamp, UPI app name. Local SQLite only.
• IP address — auto-detected once for country code. Not stored after detection.

3. Notification Access Permission

The App uses BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE — a sensitive Android permission that allows reading notification content from other apps.

Why we need it: Core functionality. Without it, the app cannot detect UPI payment notifications and cannot announce the amount via voice.

We only read notifications from UPI-enabled payment applications. With notification content we: extract amount + sender; announce via TTS; save local SQLite record; sync amount to server only to notify linked staff.

We do NOT read notifications from any other apps (WhatsApp, SMS, email, social media). We do NOT use notification content for advertising or profiling.

Parse diagnostics: If a UPI notification cannot be parsed (e.g. unknown sender name), the raw notification title and body text are sent to our server solely to improve parsing accuracy. This data is not used for any other purpose, not shared with third parties, and is reviewed only by the app developer.

You can revoke this permission any time at Settings → Notification Access.

5. Staff Feature & Payment Sync

Optional Staff Management Feature lets a shop owner share payment announcements with staff devices.

Transmitted: amount (e.g. ₹500), sender name if available, source UPI app name, shop name (optional), timestamp.

6. Third-Party Services

• Firebase Auth (Google LLC) — For authentication.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google LLC) — To push alerts to staff.
• Google AdMob (Google LLC) — To display banner ads.

7. Data Storage & Security

Local: Payment history and settings are stored on your device in an encrypted SQLite database. Never leaves the device except for minimal staff sync.

Server: Account info, staff relationships, notification parse diagnostics (raw notification text when parsing fails), and app configuration rules (regex patterns used to detect payment notifications) are stored on our secured server hosted in India. We use HTTPS/TLS for all transmissions.

8. Your Rights & Controls

• Delete local history via App Settings.
• Revoke Notification Access via Android Settings.
• Unlink/Remove staff via Staff tab.
• Request account deletion by visiting our Account Deletion Page or by emailing us at friendsupinfotech@gmail.com.

Alertin is an independent utility application. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to any UPI payment service providers, banks, or financial institutions, including RBI-regulated entities.
